Alphabet & Pronunciation
The full set of letters that represent the sounds of the Finnish language. Each letter in a word is pronounced exactly as it is written in Finnish.
Originally only the letters a, d, e, g, h, i, j, k, l, m, n, o, p, r, s, t, u, v, y, ä & ö appeared in Finnish, but due loanwords appearing from other languages the full latin alphabet is considered part of the Finnish alphabet. Some letters like š & ž are also considered as part of the alphabet, though they appear only very rarely.
